Miranda C. Burns
Miranda is a talented designer who improvises uniquely beautiful and comfortable clothing, often from recycled materials chosen for their history.  She was an inspiration to many other artists as she pursued her creative career in Boston, and was one of the original organizers of the Firefly festival.  She has since relocated to San Francisco, where she operates Miranda Caroligne - A Living Construction Boutique.  There and at other venues she treats audiences to live clothing design as performance art.
Miranda created most of the unique costumes in Crypto-Candida.  She was involved in the project early on and helped introduce many important collaborators.  She appears in the movie as Witch Barbara, the bartender and events coordinator for the Nothing.

Dan Croft
Dan is an endless source of positive energy who knows how to make anything look good.
He did much of the camera work and set design for Crypto-Candida, as well as providing last-minute problem-solving and transportation for the cast and crew.  He appears in the movie as a glitter-blowing Fairy in Fairyland, and later as a melancholy apple-eater in the Nothing.

Joshua Kastorf
Josh grew up in Pembroke, MA, where he enjoyed brief fame in the fourth grade when his poem “Silence” was published in Highlights for Children magazine.  He has always been interested in filmmaking, especially fantasy, sci-fi, and experimental films, and in 1997 he received a degree in film and video production from the University of Southern California.  After a very brief career in Hollywood, he returned to Massachusetts, where he worked for WGBH until leaving to pursue an unspecified creative project.  While working on Crypto-Candida, he moved and changed jobs several times, wrote several books of poetry, fell in love and got married, became an organizer of the Firefly festival, and met and collaborated with some of his favorite artists and musicians.
Josh wrote, produced, and directed Crypto-Candida, edited the movie in collaboration with Nathan Gray, created the puppets, and did much of the camera work, lighting, and set design.  He appears in the movie as Crypto, as well as providing the voices for Pink Bunny and sometimes Jerry.

Karl Kastorf
Karl has had a life-long interest in carpentry, and has designed and built sets for many community theater productions.  With his wife Gail he operates Post Road Framers in Rowley, MA where he creates high-end custom frames and showcases local artists.
Karl created a number of innovative, versatile set-pieces for Crypto-Candida which could be arranged by the crew to represent many different worlds.

J.D. Leggett
J.D. is a director, performer, make-up artist, choreographer, and costume designer for the Full Body Cast’s production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show every Saturday night in Harvard Square.  He has also performed in or created make-up for many other stage productions.
J.D. designed most of the unique make-up concepts in Crypto-Candida.  He appears in the movie as Eszelchai, a magic apple dealer in the Nothing, and also as concert-goer in Fairyland.  He was involved with the project from early on and helped introduce many important collaborators.

Eric Love
Eric is a multi-talented visual artist, musician, performer, and teacher.  His main passion is Ultra Plush, the pschedellic goth-rock band with whom he composes, sings, and plays guitar.
Using colored pencil and watercolor, Eric created all of the maps and illustrations that appear in the “Irene’s Dream” segment of Crypto-Candida, and in our promotional materials.  He also performed and recorded the score for that segment based on themes he developed with Ultra Plush.  He appears in the movie as Morpho, the sorceror and prince-consort of Fairyland.

Sean Stevens
Using lights, video projection, lasers, and original software, Sean creates unique works of art that respond to music and movement.  He also enjoys helping fellow artists find the technology, inspiration, and community they need to make their own projects successful.  He is an organizer of the Firefly festival and a key member of Glitch, a collective of VJ’s, DJ’s, and videographers who experiment with the relationships between sound and light.
Sean created most of the unique lighting effects in Crypto-Candida, including the colorful synaesthetic patterns projected over the actors to represent traveling between realities.  He appears in the movie as himself, controlling the light show that accompanies Candida’s performance in the Nothing.

Amanda Wright
Amanda is a natural leader with a wide variety of creative interests, from bass to painting to uncanny animal impressions.
She did much of the make-up and set design for Crypto-Candida, and helped to organize scenes with many actors  She was involved in the project from early on and helped keep it going through difficult times.
